“Fix My Kid’s Nutrition” — Cool, But Let’s Start with You

I get this all the time:
“Can you talk to my kid about eating better?”

Sure. I can give them tips, encourage better habits, all that.
But let’s be real—
It’s hard to convince Little Billy to skip the hot dogs when Big William is double-fisting chili dogs in the recliner every night like it’s the Nathan’s finals.

Kids aren’t dumb. They see everything.
You telling them to eat more veggies while you’re knee-deep in a bag of Doritos? Mixed signals, my friend.

Healthy habits don’t magically appear because someone gave a motivational talk.
They’re built through environment, example, and culture.

If your pantry looks like a vending machine exploded, but you’re lecturing your kid on sugar intake…
Yeah, it’s not gonna stick.

So here’s the deal:

  • Stock better food.

  • Eat it yourself.

  • Make meals a family thing, not a food-policing session.

  • Stop labeling foods “bad” like you’re Judge Judy of snacks.

Want your kid to change? Be worth copying.

Because if the culture at home doesn’t shift, no amount of nutrition advice will.

It starts with you.
Not your kid. Not a food chart. Not me.
You.
